Last Week's Training: Same Ol', Same Ol'

51¾ miles for the week

M – 4¾ miles, recovery run, pace 8:20 minutes per mile, 56°F at 4AM
Tu – 5¾ miles tempo run, average pace 6:41 mpm with the measured “Dow-Minus” two miles in 12:56 and 13:10 (disappointed I slowed down), 64°F at 4AM
W – 5¼ miles with 6x400/200rec, 8:12 mpm overall pace (400s in 81, 79, 80, 79, 79, and 75 but I ran them in lanes 2 and 3 so the actual 400s were a couple of seconds faster than these times), 69°F at 7PM
Th – 4¾ miles, recovery run, pace 8:37 minutes per mile, 70°F at 4AM
F - 10 miles, just under 7:00 mpm, sunny and nice 66°F at 4PM
Sa – 7½ miles, easy at 8:21 pace, sunny and very nice, 68°F at 1PM
Su – 13¾, average pace 7:19 mpm, sunny and nice dry air, 57°F starting at 1PM.

I’m still haven’t gotten rid of my scratchy throat and cough. I picked up my bib number for the Bayou City 10K. I’m not sure about the sub-38.

Just found out that my nephew goes back to Iraq for his second tour on Monday. I'm bummed, to say the least.

I'll keep him and his family in my thoughts. My son's Company was in one of the worst areas; I think it's better in most of the country.
