My weight is still solidly in the upper 180s. I doubt I’ll be able to get below or even near 180 before Saturday’s 8K. I’d really like to run the 8K under 30 minutes, or better yet, under 29:50 for sub-6 pace. My 8K PR is a 30:44 from the March 2003 Law Week run, but I ran a 30:12 5-miler in February. My weight and the weather forecast seem to be conspiring against me. There’s supposed to be a nearby cold front, but it’s not predicted to make it through to Houston, so Saturday’s forecast is warm, humid, and windy.

Keep up the steady work. I'll be pulling for you to PR at Law Week. I'll probably skip out of that run and opt for a long run on Saturday, but hopefully the stars line up for something good.
